What’s wrong with spending a little “ME” time. As “social” as society has built us to be today, we forget that we need to take some time for ourselves. A lot of times we focus too much on being around others that we forget about ourselves. There’s nothing wrong with being a little selfish by spending some alone time. Honestly, the busier you are, the more beneficial it is to have some ME time.
Reason #1 - PLAN YOUR LIFE
Being alone doesn’t need to sound so lonely. Take this time to self reflect. Think about life goals. Think about things you want to improve on. These moments are precious because it gives you time to not worry about others, and to worry about yourself.
Reason #2 - KNOWING YOURSELF
Spending time alone gives you time to really start feeling comfortable with who you are. Learn more about yourself and who you are. Compliment yourself, build yourself up, and gain self confidence. Really get to love the skin you are in.
Reason #3 - MENTAL HEALTH
Check in with yourself. Ask yourself how you feel. Are you happy? Are you sad? Why are you happy? Why are you sad? Talk to yourself, find yourself and just make sure YOU are doing ok. When you can tolerate alone time, this can increase happiness, enjoy life a little more, and help manage stress.
Reason #4 - PRODUCTIVITY & CREATIVITY
A little alone time can help increase your productivity. Being alone with your own thoughts gives you the space to be free and creative, and gives you time to focus on getting to work.
Reason #5 - ENHANCE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS
Although it may seem a little counterproductive, spending time alone can actually help improve your relationships with others. When you send time alone you really get a grasp of who you are and what you want in life. Knowing exactly what you want, can help you make better decisions of who you want to surround yourself with. This can also help you appreciate spending time with people a little bit more.
Now it may not be easy to completely disconnect yourself from the world but it is important to take the time to enjoy your own company. Recharge, relax, and take this time to heal your body, mind and soul. All you need is 10 minutes alone each day. Find a space where you can let go of the world and be alone with YOU.
